Shirley R. Daliet entered into a peaceful eternal rest on Sunday, February 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 80. She was born in Union, South Carolina on October 3, 1942. She had a career in customer service at Delta Air Lines Inc. before her retirement in 2008 which she then went on to work for SMS International Share Operations until her passing.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending countless hours with her seven grandsons and her great-grandson. She also enjoyed shopping and organizing family and holiday events.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Oliver J. Daliet, Jr. as well as her parents Natha Lee Jones and Vernon Tucker.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, L. Nacole Daliet-Peychaud (Janard) of Newnan, Ga., sons, Oliver J. Daliet III (Pamela) of Newnan, Ga. and Allen J. Daliet (fiancée, Jennifer Barrios) of New Orleans. She also leaves to mourn her seven handsome grandsons, Oliver John (boysie), Allen Cade, Austen Lucas, Nicholas Joseph, Aiden Noah Daliet, Justin Nicholas and Joshua Aaron Peychaud and great-grandson, Azai Daliet. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Daryl Daliet of Virginia Beach, Va. and Wayne Daliet (Shirley) of New Orleans along with a host of cousins, countless family and friends who were blessed to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass officiated by Father Kingsley Ogbuji SSJ at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10 AM. Visitation will begin at 9 AM. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum.
Services are being handled by Dignity Memorials in New Orleans, Louisiana .
