Sharon Jane Hunter, 64, of Philadelphia formerly of Coatesville, passed away, March 13, 2016 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Dorothy Gist Harrell and the late James Gist. She was the wife of the late Donald Ray Hunter with whom she shared 19 years of marriage until his passing in 1989.
She received her education in the Coatesville Area public schools. She enjoyed fashion, music and jewelry making. She was a woman of faith, and had a strong, nurturing spirit.

In addition to her mother, Dorothy, she is survived by a son, Darnell Hunter of Burlington, NC; daughters, Angel Hunter and Donette Hunter both of Lancaster, a granddaughter she raised, Shari Hunter of Philadelphia; three brothers, Rev. Roger J. Johnson and his wife Viola, Reginald Harrell all of Coatesville, Ronald Harrell of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Quazhae Nunn and her grandmother Mary Fluit.
Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Bethel AME Church, 671 South First Avenue, Coatesville, PA.
Interment will be held privately.
