Sharon D. Alston Brown was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania November 13, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Van Alston, Jr. and Lottie Edward Alston.

She attended the Great Valley public schools. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" by her family and friends.
Over the years, she had been employed at Bell Atlantic and the Domestic Violence Center in West Chester.

Sharon departed this life Monday, March 21, 2011 at Sacred Heart in Philadelphia.

Sharon is survived by one son, Derek L. Brown of Coatesville; three daughters, Tonya D. Brown of Phoenixville, Tara L. Brown of Norristown, Takia A. Brown of Conllingdale; two brothers, Van "Buddy" Alston III of Wayne, Kevin P. Alston, Sr. of Malvern; one sister Lita M. Alston of Paoli; 9 grandchildren (we can put their names here) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her presence will be greatly missed, but her memory will remain in our hearts forever.

Services will be held privately.
