Sarah Mae Whitaker, 80, of Coatesville, PA passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Chester County Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Abigail Belle and Charles Miller. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Whitaker.

Sarah was employed as a nurse's assistant at the Coatesville VA Hospital for over 30 years until she retired.

Sarah enjoyed cooking, traveling, watching westerns, and going to Atlantic City.

She is survived by sons, Geoffrey Whitaker "Weasel" of Coatesville, Anthony D. Whitaker "Nugget" and his wife Nikikki of Alabama; 12 grandkids; 8 great grands; lifelong friend, Joan Gallimore of West Chester; great-niece, Melinda Miller; great nephew, John Miller of Coatesville; special nephews, Eshmon Butler and Dana Robinson and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharla Denise Whitaker; sisters, Barbara Warren, Rosita James, and Francis Young.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Wright Funeral and Cremation Services 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 8:30 AM until 9:45 AM.
