S. Romaine Alston, 71, of Coatesville passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Brandywine Hospital.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late James Chambers and Grace Young.

She was the wife of Willie L. Alston with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Her hobbies include, cooking, sewing and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Willie L. Alston; her children Isaac Alston (Vicky), Willie F Alston, Eric Alston, David Alston (Bonnie), Sara Alston-Edwards and Gloria Alston-Anthony (Frank); grandchildren whom she raised Maurice Tredwell, Jr. and Marquise Alston; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Karen Alston; two sisters, Evelyn Steel and Jane Wicks-Tucker.

Services will be held 11 am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, in Coatesville.

Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery
