Ronald Lawrence Young, Sr., 82, of Coatesville, departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the age of 82. Ronald passed away at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Born in Coatesville, Ronald was the son of the late Samuel William Young, Sr., and Irene (Bacon) Young Worthy. He was a graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School.

Ronald started off his younger years at Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown, soon gravitating towards his passion for cars. A skilled mechanic by trade, Ronald owned and operated his own paint shop (Ronnies Paint Shop), where he combined his love for old classic cars with his experience. His Love for automobiles was further reflected with the purchase of his blue 1966 Ford Fairlane, where he took pride in rebuilding it from the ground up. His extensive collection of car magazines and his participation as a member of a racing club (Second to None) speaks on his love for cars.

Known for his quick wit and playful sarcasm, Ronald was also a deeply generous and compassionate man who never hesitated to help those in need. He loved sharing old stories about his family, especially his brothers who he had a close bond with and deep love for his mother. Ronald adored his children and treasured every moment with his grandchildren. When he was able, he cherished taking his grandchildren on outings, often spoiling them with toys from Walmart or a meal courtesy of Pop-pop. They especially loved their outdoor lessons from pop-pop on their trips to Cabela's. Later in life, Ronald was baptized at St. Martha Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare by Reverend Wilson from Parkesburg.

Ronald is survived by his children, Michael David Hubbard and Ronald Lawrence Young Jr., both of Coatesville, and Nicole Young Johnson of Parkesburg; brother, Samuel William Young, Jr. (Cheryl); 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Thomas Young, and one niece, Denise Young.

Ronald will be deeply missed, but his love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Homegoing Services will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Interment will be held in New Evergreen Cemetery, in Coatesville.
