Ronald Steven Thomas, "Stevie", 58, of West Chester passed away September 1, 2014 at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was the son of the late Lawrence Samuel Thomas, Sr. and Cora Louise (Lawrence) Thomas. He was affectionately called "Stevie" by his family and friends.
A lifelong resident of West Chester, he attended the West Chester area public schools and became employed at MacLaren Fabrication in West Chester.
Stevie was a gifted auto mechanic who loved to work on cars. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed listening to the oldies. He also enjoyed western movies, family card games, playing chess with his late brother Will and sharing good times with family and friends.
He is survived bythree sons, Ronald S. McCoy of Claymont, DE, Tyrone Burton of North Carolina, Robert S. Harris II of Berwyn; three daughters, Amanda L Harris, Salem, NJ, Paige Harris of Coatesville, Tisha Mae Brown of West Chester; four brothers, Lawrence (Brenda) Thomas, Jr. and John (Genevieve) Thomas, Sr., of West Chester; Gilbert Thomas all of Drexel Hill, Harlan Thomas, Sr. of Delaware; seven sisters, Florence Thomas, Mary Ann Merritt, Doris (Tracy) Mickens, Cora Thomas, Vivian Francis all of West Chester, Agnes (Andrew) Haman of Caln, and Marlene (Paul) Barkesdale.
He also leaves others who were like his children, Bryant McCoy, Constance (Robert) Lee, Jacqueline (Jonathan) May, Christian Allen, Lorraine Harris, Sir Harris, and Talonda "Lum" Cain; 6 grandchildren, his best friend Craig and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Harry S. Thomas, Wanda M. Thomas, William W. Thomas and Maurice Francis.
Services will be held 11 am Monday, September 8, 2014 at Highway Gospel Community Temple, 418 E. Miner Street in West Chester with a viewing beginning at 10 am.
Interment will be private.
