Obituary

Robin Allison Thomas, of Downingtown, PA passed away suddenly on Friday, April 5, 2024. She was 65 years old.

She was the third child born to the late Herbert R. Thomas and Neysa C. Taylor Thomas.

Robin was a graduate of the 1977 class of Downingtown Area Senior High School where she was a cheerleader and attended West Chester University.

Over the years, she worked as an administrative assistant. She was one of the first African American bank tellers at Downingtown National Bank. She also worked for Devereux Foundation and West Chester University as well as other multiple jobs.

Robin was intelligent, strong-willed, and resourceful. She had a knack with words, grammar, and numbers. She had a talent for producing creative resumes, even programs and spreadsheets. She was an excellent proofreader, always catching the errors.

She was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.  She loved social media including Facebook and Instagram. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to eat; especially her sister's Lasagna. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Byrd" to her nieces and nephews.  She was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church in West Chester, where she served in the Visitor's Ministry.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, John Noble Thomas and Grace Trowery Thomas Burke; maternal grandparents, Neyson A. Taylor and Annie (Lawrence) Taylor; and nephew, Brandon. E Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Quynne A. Thomas; and sisters, Sharon A. Thomas of Downingtown, Gail Norris Johnson (Reginald) of Kinsale, Virginia; brother, Herbert D. Thomas of Downingtown; niece Shavon A. Phipps of Downingtown; nephews: Aaron B. Norris of Downingtown, Stephon A. Norris of Honeybrook, Mark L. Norris of Coatesville, Steve A. Norris, Jr. of Coatesville, Jordan N. Thomas and Antonio R. Thomas both of Downingtown; uncle, Lawrence A. Taylor (Arie) of Seaford, Virginia; and several great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her presence will be missed but her memory will live in our hearts forever.

A memorial service in honor of Robin will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Courtyard Philadelphia Coatesville Hotel, 600 Manor Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.

The family requests that those attending the memorial service please wear white or something of Robin's favorite NFL football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Please bring photos and memories to share with the family.
