Sellers
February 5, 1960 – December 27, 2020
Life began for Robert J. Sellers, Sr. on February 5, 1960 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late great Harry A. Sellers, Jr., and Judith Dennis; and step-mother Beverley Blake. He was lovingly known as "Jerry", "Crewshef" and "Sellers" by his family and friends. Robert peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. God dispatched his angel of mercy calling him home from pain to glory. He was a 1978 graduate of the Coatesville Area School District. Robert enjoyed working with the Intellectual and developmentally disabled population for many years. He was employed at Brian's House and Devereux. He had worked as a nurse's assistant at the Coatesville VA Hospital. Robert served in the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne. He also was a member of Bernardtown Baptist Church.
Robert is remembered as a cheerful loving and loyal father, brother, grandfather, companion, and friend. He loved his children and grandchildren and always wanted to see them succeed in life. Robert had a special bond with his siblings. Better believe if you messed with him, they would all be after you! Robert was a jack of all trades. He could do anything and was always putting his skills to use. Robert taught his various skills to others. He was the type to always show up when you needed him. Robert was a well-known auto body specialist. With the help of his brother Tony, they both took pride in their business Sellers Auto Body. Robert was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed shooting pool with his late father, brothers, sons, brother-in-law, and friends. He loved listening to music and dancing. He was the life of the party! Robert could make anyone laugh with his jokes and magic tricks. Even in is hours of distress he shinned through and brought so much happiness to others. He also enjoyed watching western cowboy movies and horror films. Robert cherished his time with his companion, Stacy Andrews of Coatesville who was a faithful and loving caregiver to him. Robert leaves a great legacy to forever be cherished by his daughter, Tamara J. Sellers; five sons: Robert J. Sellers Jr. (Crystal), Matthew D. Andrews, Jeron A. Sellers, Rashon J. Sellers, and Shane A. Sellers all of Coatesville; five brothers: Harry A. Sellers III (Tracy) of Coatesville, Barry L. Sellers (Victoria) of Peach Bottom, Maryland, Anthony G. Sellers of Coatesville, and Joseph Anan of Washington, D.C.; one stepbrother, George W. Blake of Coatesville; three sisters: Deborah Wiley (Bryant, Sr.) of Pottstown, PA, Shelly L. Middleton of Coatesville, and Kimberly Dunn of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren who loved him dearly: Imira, Jordan, Alyssa, Jaylani, Justin, and Atarah. He had a loyal and loving friendship with his best friend Steve Lewis of Coatesville and was cherished by many other friends. He also had a very close bond with his nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to reuniting with his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Steven Sellers and Nathaniel Booth.
A Walk-Through viewing will be held for one hour between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, Monday, January 4, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 177 Barber Avenue, Coatesville, PA.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, a funeral service will be held strictly private for the immediate family only.
