Robert E. Green, Sr., 75, of Newark, Del., passed away, July 21, 2012 at the Heartland Hospice in Wilmington.

Born in Chester, he was the son of the late James and Bessie Green and the husband of Carmen Green.

Bobby had been employed at William Gable Construction for 15 years.

He was a member of the Counts Social Club in Kennett Square.

Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking.

In addition to his wife, he leaves seven daughters, Sheila Davis of New Castle, Del., Robin Green, of Parkside, Pa, Cherlise Carter of Jonesboro, Ga., Octavia Green of New Castle, Del., Ericka (Scott) Ferroni of Lincoln University, Angela Heard of Arlington, Tex., Wanda (Derrick) Wilbert and Shatelle Hicks of Little Rock, Ark.; five sons, Robert Green, Jr. of  New Castle, Dela., Dontannyue Green of Americus, Ga, Richard Green of Macon, Ga,  Michael T. Davis of Wilmington, and his baby boy, Cocca Green of Newark, Dela; six sisters, Mary Smith, Betty Hammond, Julia (Carnell) Butler, Alberta (Benjamin) Boyce, Alice Hinson, and Catherine Green of all of Chester; two brothers, Daniel Green of Darby, and Thomas Green of Chester; father-in-law, Wesley W. Davis, Sr. of Pocopson; three sisters-in-law, Renee Jones and Gail Reyen of Kenneth Square, and Regina Davis of Spring, Tex.; brothers-in-law, Wesley W. Davis, Jr. of West Chester, Wayne Davis of Honolulu, Hawaii, Vernon Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Todd Davis of Avondale; 28 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, July 27, at the Church of the Advent, 401 N Union St, Kennett Square, with a viewing beginning at 10 am.
