Robert G. Butcher III, 57,  of Thorndale, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. He was born on August 25, 1966, in West Chester, PA, to Evelyn Boyer and the late Robert Butcher Jr.

Robert, affectionately known as Bobby, was educated in the West Chester Area School District, graduating from Henderson Senior High School with the class of 1985. He continued his education by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from Lincoln University, with a minor in Sociology in 1991.

Robert spent many years in local government agencies and the human services sector.  He was a Public Information Officer and Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency for fifteen years. He also served as a Housing Contract Analyst for the city of Philadelphia Office of Housing and Community Development.

Robert is married to DeAnne Butcher. They have two beautiful children, Maya R. Butcher and Sydney M. Butcher. He adored his girls and looked forward to seeing them graduate from college.

In addition, Robert was a real estate investor, avid Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers sports fan and vintage car enthusiast. He enjoyed entertaining company, listening to R&B music, and spending time with family and friends.  He will always be remembered for his kind- heartedness, smile, quick wit and humor.

Robert is survived by his wife DeAnne Butcher, and beloved daughters Maya R. Butcher, and Sydney M. Butcher. In addition to his mother, Evelyn Boyer, of West Chester, Robert leaves to cherish fond memories of siblings Margaret D. Burton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Philip R. Burton, of West Chester; Yvonne M. Lindsay, wife of Frank Lindsay of Coatesville; Roberta A. Rowland, of West Chester; Evelyn D. Butcher-Spruill of Downingtown;  and step-siblings, Delbert J. Boyer, IV, and Denise Alexander.  And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Butcher, Jr.; stepfather, Delbert J. Boyer III; sisters, Carol J. Butcher and Renee Butcher; brother, Jerry D. Burton; in addition to his maternal grandparents, Jeremiah Burton and Sadie A.Burton of West Chester,  Pennsylvania, and paternal grandparents Robert G. Butcher, Sr. and  Rebecca J. Butcher of Downingtown.

The family is requesting donations be made in Robert's memory to Habitat for Humanity .

Services will be held privately.
