Ralph E. Dalton, "Virginia Slim", 73, of Coatesville, passed away November 12, 2014.  Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was the oldest child born to the late John and Margaret McCleland Dalton. He was the husband of Bonnie Dalton with whom he shared 48 years.

He received his education in the Conley School system graduating from Conley High School in 1959.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1968.

Ralph had been employed as an engineer at ICI in Thorndale formerly known as LNP he also worked at National Rolling Mills and retired from Lukens Steel Company. He was one of the founding members of the Highway Cruisers Motorcycle Club and a member of the United Retired Men's Club.

Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, eating crabs, and time spent with family.

Surrounded by his family, Ralph passed away November 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Dalton.

He leaves his wife Bonnie Dalton; daughter, Tanya Allen and her husband Altez of Highland Springs, Virginia; Russell Richard and Jah'mir Pennington, whom he raised; brother, Delbert Dalton and his wife Barbara of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sister, Tanya Dalton of Highpoint, North Carolina; uncle, James McCleland and his wife June of Clinton, Maryland; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. November 22, 2014 at the Coatesville VA Hospital Chapel, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road in Coatesville with a viewing beginning at 8 a.m.

Interment will be held at New Evergreen Cemetery, Coatesville, PA. Flowers may be sent to the VA Hospital Chapel on the day of the service, the theme color is blue and white. Condolences from organizations can be email or faxed to the funeral home by Friday 9 p.m.
