Phyllis G. Winters, 77, of Media, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Wallingford Nursing home. Born in Edgemont, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. Turner and Maude (Butler) Turner.

Phyllis was the wife of the late Johnson Ivy Winters. She was a 1954 graduate of Media High School and attended Cheyney University.

Phyllis had been employed as an office manager of Winter's Moving and Storage for several years.

She was a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Glenolden. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, gardening and making sweet potato pies.

Phyllis is survived by two sons, Johnson Montez Winters of Havertown and Edward Charles "Terry" Winters of North Carolina; sisters, Constance Jackson, Barbara Rheubottom, both of Media, Hilda Wright, of Paoli, Jean Lewis of Plymouth Meeting and Frances Turner; brother, Thomas (Angie) Turner of Devon; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Eva Young, father-in-law John Johnson and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Cummings, and two brothers Leroy Turner and Edward Turner.

Services will be held 10 am, Friday, December 28, at Ebenezer AME Church, 32 North Academy & Cooke Aves, Glenolden, PA. Family visitation will begin at 9:15 am.

Interment will be in the Media Cemetery, Kirk Lane, Media.
