Obituary

Paul Johnson, born on December 26, 1975, peacefully passed away on April 30, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones in his home in Dover, DE. He was 48 years old.

Paul, affectionately known as "Little Paul" to his family, was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. His life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Born in the "Hayti" area of Coatesville, PA, Paul was always around those that he loved most and would do whatever he could to help anyone, no matter what. He found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: spending time with his family, cheering on the Eagles, and listening to an eclectic range of music genres – from Hip Hop & R&B to Rock & Roll and Country. Paul was also quite competitive – whether it was playing board games like Monopoly and Clue, or card games like Uno or Spades, or saving the world on "Call of Duty" on PlayStation.

Paul's love knew no bounds, especially when it came to his wife and children. He was their rock, their guiding light, and their biggest cheerleader. His legacy will continue to shine through his children, whom he inspired to be good to others while being true to themselves. Professionally, Paul excelled as a Master Commercial Security Technician, dedicating himself to excellence in every aspect of his work. Graduating from Coatesville Area Sr. High in 1994 and obtaining an associate degree from CHI Institute, Paul's strong work ethic and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues at B Safe Security.

Paul will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Michelle Fernandez Johnson, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage. His legacy will endure through his beloved children Camaya Matthews of Dallas, TX; Sean, Aaron and Michael Johnson of Dover, DE; and Cameron Matthews, who he loved like a son, of Raleigh, NC. Paul will continue to live in the hearts of his loving mother, Catherine Johnson; dear Uncle Paul Johnson "Uncle Pedie", who was Paul's father figure and namesake, both of Coatesville, PA; his loyal sister Ethel Dickerson (Shaun – also Paul's best friend) of Leesburg VA; his mother-in-love Antonia Nazario of Coatesville, PA; brothers-in-love Christopher (Ivellis) and Raul Fernandez; and sisters-in-love Yeira Crespo (David); Yeiza Fernandez and Gretna Peral, all of Lancaster, PA. Paul will also be greatly missed by his Godmother Diana "Renee" Fields of Jacksonville, FL; Godson Princeton Brown of Coatesville, PA, and his extended family, countless friends and colleagues. Paul never met a stranger and touched so many lives. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and infectious smile.

Paul's passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but his memory will serve as a beacon of love and inspiration for generations to come. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.
