Nelson Neil Bowers, Sr. "Bill", 75, of Coatesville passed away, December 2, 2013 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester.

Born in Quarryville, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Beulah Callahan Bowers.

A US Army Veteran, Bill served until he was honorably discharged in 1963.

He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Company for over 30 years.

Bill enjoyed fishing and classic automobiles.

He is survived by seven daughters, Michelle Styer, Sonya (John) Lindsey, Regina Gaffney and Anitra (Mark) Hicks all of Coatesville, Dorinda Bowers of West Chester, Carla Bowers of Downingtown and Carmen (Kenneth) Glover of Maryland; three sons, Nelson (Yvonne) Bowers, Jr. of New Castle, DE, Michael (Dorothy) Bowers of Coatesville and Ryan Boddy of Lebanon; one sister,  Loretta Bassett of Bear, DE; two brothers, Allen Bowers of  Chandler, AZ, Bishop Paul Bowers of Cincinnati,  OH; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; former spouse, Lola Bowers of Downingtown and a host of other relatives.  He was preceded in death by six brothers, W.F. Bowers, Grant Bowers, Lindsey Bowers, Vance Bowers, Raleigh Bowers and Dallas Bowers;  one sister, Lenna Maxwell.
