Obituary

Monserrate Minguela was born on March 11, 1941 in Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Manuel Minguela and Margara Vazquez. He was affectionately known as "Coya" or "Kojak" by his family and friends.

Coya enjoyed being around children. He was fun loving, loud and somewhat of a comedian. He loved to barbeque and roast pigs. He also enjoyed eating ice cream cones, and fishing in the Coatesville reservoir with a can and some string. Everyone who knew Coya knows he would be sitting at his table in the window looking out at the neighborhood. He enjoyed classic cars like the Chevy Nova, Ford LTD and Buick Regal. He also liked to watch the three stooges and western movies. Most of all he enjoyed being around his grandchildren.

Coya will be deeply missed. He is survived by his daughter Madeline Minguela; his companion of more than 20 years, Lillian Cintron of Coatesville; step-children, Ieanetsy Santana and her husband Octavio of Coatesville, Jose DeJesus Cintron and his wife Elizabeth of Watertown, New York, Sandra Colon of Coatesville and Angel Colon of Coatesville; his brothers Manuel Minguela of New Jersey, Luis Minguela of New Jersey, Jose Minguela of Puerto Rico, Octavio Ortiz of New Jersey; sisters, Sovieda Minguela of Puerto Rico, Luzelnia Minguela of Puerto Rico, Nierida Minguela of Arizona;15 grandchildren, 4 great granchildren other relatives and friends.

We will cherish his memory forever in our hearts.
