He was educated in the Coatesville Area School District and went on to join the U.S. Army where he showcased his commitment to his country. His love for music was not only a personal joy but also a gift he shared with those around him. Alongside music, Michael found peace in fishing. He was a member of New Life In Christ Fellowship. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. "Here We Go, Steelers!"
