Michael Lewis Hammond was born May 9, 1957, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Earl Proctor and Irene Hammond Greenly.

Michael was affectionately known as "Hammer" by his family and friends. He attended the Octorara Area public schools graduating from high school in 1976.

Michael had been employed in the Canteen at the Coatesville VA Medical Center for about 6 years. He was a "jack of all trades" and a handyman. He was always willing to help people with lawns, landscaping, or painting.  He was gifted in sketching and drawing as well.

Michael was a member of South Coatesville Life Center where he did maintenance work for the church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Deborah Hammond, Carmen Green, Theresa Greenly and Cheryl Brown all of Coatesville; brothers, Mervin Greenly of Coatesville and Earl Cole of Lancaster and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Though we mourn his passing, we will cherish fond memories in our hearts.
