Michael James Ferguson, 57, of Coatesville, passed away February 18, 2016 at home. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Ira James Ferguson, Jr. and Morrislene Purnsley Ferguson.
He was a  1977 graduate of the Coatesville Area School District.
Michael loved tinkering with cars. He also enjoyed carpentry and landscaping. He served as a sexton at Holy Community Church of God in Christ before he became ill. One of his favorite pastimes was chatting it up with his closest friends.
Michael is survived by four sisters, Violet A. Cole, who was also his devoted caregiver, Dowoun M. Phillips (Roland), Naomi S. Rayner (Michael, Sr.) , Tracy Sellers (Harry, III), all of Coatesville; three brothers, Stanley "Robby" Pernsley, Jr. (Shirley), Kevin J. Ferguson (Carmen) both of Coatesville, Ira "Morris" Ferguson III (Rits) of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence "Larry" Ferguson, Curtis Ferguson; and one sister, Cynthia Ferguson-Runner.
A Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m.
