Michael Marvin Cottom, 59, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 23, 1960, he was the only child of the late Marvin  Wharton Cottom and Theresa Rhoda Givens Cottom.

Mike was a graduate of Darby Township High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, valiantly, until he was honorably discharged in 1984. After returning to civilian life, Mike became employed at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Over the years, he worked in the environmental maintenance service department.

Mike was a lively person who always had jokes. He was an avid Eagles fan, who enjoyed watching football, playing basketball, listening to the oldies music, and eating seafood like shrimp and crabs.

He is also survived by Tanya Campbell companion of 15 years; children, Tamika Tucker of Coatesville, PA, Tyshanda Clark of York, PA; grandchildren: Raneja Tinson, Lee Boyer, Brandi Tucker, Losene David, Javon Clark; aunts, Amy R. Cottom Mahoner of Phila, PA, and Elnora Brown of Wharton, MD; In-laws: Reva Williams, Diondra Williams, Brooke Jennings, Brandi Jennings, Branae Jennings, Brianna Lavender, Desiree Burkey, Franklin Williams, III, Brashon Jennings all of Coatesville and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Though he is gone he will not be forgotten. We will cherish his memory in our hearts.

Services will be held privately. A walk-through viewing will be held from 10 AM to 11:45 AM, Monday, August 3, 2020, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic situation, the funeral service will be held privately with limited seating for immediate family only to allow for safe physical distancing.
