Merv" G. Greenly, Jr.
May 14, 1967 – March 2, 2025
Mervin G. Greenly, Jr., 57, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Chester County Hospital, in West Chester.
Born in Coatesville, Mervin was the son of the late Mervin G. Greenly, Sr. and Irene C. Hammond Greenly.
He was baptized at the Brewer Memorial Baptist Church in his youth where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Mervin was affectionately known as "Big Merv" by his family and friends. He attended the West Chester Area public schools graduating from Henderson High School in 1986.
Over the years, he worked as a warehouse supervisor at Rubenstiens in West Chester, AOE in Exton, McDonald's and Giant Food Stores.
Merv always had a smile. He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. His family called him the grill master because he loved to cook, especially lasagna and chili. He loved to eat out at restaurants. Most of all, he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he enjoyed basketball, too.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Michael "Hammer" Hammond.
Merv leaves cherished memories to one son, Chancellor Johnson of Coatesville; sister, Deborah Hammond, Carmen A. Green, and Theresa Greenly all of Coatesville; best friend, Toma Miller of Kennett Square; special friends, John and Linda DiCecco of Coatesville; nieces, Jalisa Greenly, Cierra Green, Brittany Greenly; nephews, LeVar Hammond and C. Quinten Greenly; great-nephews, Jason Baker, Kyjon Jones and Brees Boyer and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 South 17th Avenue, Coatesville, Pennsylvania 19320.

Flowers may be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme colors are green and white.
