Obituary

Melvin Price Dutton, III, affectionately known as "Squeak", was born on October 17, 1966, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Melvin Dutton, Jr. and Jeanette Dutton Brown. Squeak went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in West Chester, PA.

He received his education in the West Chester Area School District and graduated from Henderson High School in 1985. As a youth, Squeak found joy in camping, hiking, and exploring nature with his sister, Joyc, and friends.

Squeak proudly served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after two years. His kind heart and generosity defined his character, as he consistently sought to help others.

Squeak was known for his deep connection to his community, attending local churches in the Coatesville area.

His love for sports was evident in his enthusiasm for tennis and football, and he cherished horseback riding, a skill taught to him by his father, Mr. Melvin.  Squeak's passion for the Philadelphia Eagles was unparalleled. As the "Co-Captain" of the Taverns "home" team, he was always surrounded by friends and fans, ensuring everyone had food and beverages during games. The corner seat at the Tavern will forever remain his.

Squeak was known for his impeccable style, whether dressed casually or in a suit, everything had to match. His love for his dogs, Mustafa, Prince, and Junior, was equally evident, as they were always well-cared for and trained.

Squeak was also known for ensuring that those around him had a meal if hungry, something to drink if thirsty, and even a roof over their heads if needed. He facilitated job opportunities at the horse farm where his father worked, extending his kindness to those in need.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Mr. Melvin Dutton, Jr.; his mother, Jeanette Dutton Brown; two sons, Raylon Dutton and Davonne Dutton; sister, Joyc Coleman Davis; niece, J-Lin Coleman; nephew, Jahnire Coleman; great-niece, Jy'Elle Coleman; and great-nephew, Jy'Ahn Coleman; special brother, Shaun Brown, and many friends.

Squeak will be deeply missed. We will forever remember his spirit and generosity. ONE LOVE!
