Mary Francis Washington, 64, of Lancaster, PA, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Kennett Square, PA, in 1957, she was the daughter of Linda May (Goodwin) Washington, and the late Edward Rudolph Washington. She was the wife of Walter L. Butcher IV.

Sissy, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was a 1975 graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester.  After graduating high school, she worked as a nurse for many years in the healthcare field.

Sissy was very energetic and "the life of the party". She was truly a firecracker. As with many of us, she loved to cook, especially, pork chops, spare ribs, pig feet, and black-eyed peas, and had a sweet tooth for jelly beans and gummy bears, Sissy enjoyed dancing and listening to oldies music, as well as going shopping.

Sissy was preceded in death by one son, Tyrone Keith Washington; five siblings, Edward Washington, Debra Massey, Michael Washington, Linda Washington, and Steven Washington.

In addition to her husband Walter, and mother Linda, she is survived by four children; son Walter Washington V, (Latoya) of Lancaster, daughter Kiasha Washington of Upper Darby, PA, son Kevin Washington (Darnice) of Coatesville, daughter Shanna Washington (Stephen) of Penndel, PA, and step-daughter, Davionna Washington; sister, Cindy Washington of West Chester; brother, Anthony Washington of Coatesville; three aunts, Margaret Foster, Arlene Goodwin, and Vanessa Goodwin; two uncles, Ronnie Goodwin, and Jerry Goodwin; 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Her family will miss her fun-loving spirit and presence and will cherish her memories.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.  A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, 424 N Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
