Mary Tillman, 82, of Kennett Square, PA, a devoted nurse and faithful servant of God, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the age of 82.

Born in West Chester, PA, Mary was the daughter of the late Helen (Davis) Johnson and James Anderson.

She was the wife of Orville Wayne Tillman with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

She spent her life dedicated to caring for others as a nurse at Atlantic City Hospital from 1959 until her retirement. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.

Mary was a woman of deep faith, a God-fearing lady who lived her life in service to others. She had a passion for spreading the Word of God and often found comfort in prayer. Her unwavering faith was a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around her, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Throughout her long and distinguished career at Atlantic City Hospital, Mary was known for her compassion, professionalism, and dedication. She was a beloved member of the nursing staff and a mentor to many of her colleagues. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sophia Ann Tillman Ortiz.

Mary leaves behind a loving family, including her beloved husband, Orville Tillman of Kennett Square, PA; son, Terry Tillman of Florida; step-daughter, Grace Brown of Coatesville; sisters, Rose Hammond, Gerline Anderson and Priscilla Jackson; grandchildren: Tre Tillman, Tiara Tillman, Brooklyn Anderson, Monty Tolbert; son in law, Orlando Ortiz of Fayetteville, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved her.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA, 19355.
