Mary Laura Jane Hardy, 96, of Coatesville, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the St. Martha's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Downingtown, PA.

Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Neal Brazzle and Rebecca Graham Brazzle. She was the wife of the late Murril Hardy.

Mary was known in the community to be a devoted teacher in the Coatesville Area School District. She spent many years shaping the minds of students at Terry, Friendship, Caln, and Benner elementary schools. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students were evident in every child she inspired.

Beyond the classroom, Mary was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a beautiful singing voice and played the guitar with grace. She enjoyed listening to music with her favorite cherished songs by Ray Charles. Mary was fluent in French, a skill that added an extra layer of warmth to her interactions. She was a great cook. Her chili and beans were sought after, bringing comfort and joy to all who were fortunate enough to taste her delicious meals.

Mary was always willing to lend a helping hand, faithfully driving friends and neighbors to their appointments. Her devotion to her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she found great comfort and strength in her love for the Lord.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Neal Hardy, Charles Hardy; daughter, Michele Hardy, Celestine Foster; three brothers, Andrew Brazzle, Emmanuel Brazzle, and James Lopp; three sisters, Esther McPhail, Martha Brazzle Mercado, and Rebecca Allen.

She leaves cherished memories to her son, Andrew Hardy, Michael R. Hardy; daughter, Mary Jane Hardy; daughter-in-law, Patricia Hardy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville PA. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until 10:45 AM.
