Mary Retta (Rett) Brown was born in Malvern, PA, in 1934, at the end of the Great Depression, to the late Catherine (Hopkins) Burruss and Albert  Burruss. Rett, as she was known by family and friends, was educated in the Tredyffrin Easttown School District.

Over the years she was a member of and attended the New Hope Baptist Church of Paoli, and was currently a member of the Second Baptist Church, Highland Avenue in Wayne.

Rett worked as a School Bus driver for many years for the Tredyffrin Easttown School District, and was a self-employed truck driver.

Mary went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2020, at her residence in Berwyn.

She leaves lasting and dear memories to five sons, Christopher Steven of Berwyn, Craig, Cloyd (Stephanie), Curtis, (Lashawn) of Paoli, and Clemmon of West Chester; daughter, Celeste of Frazer; 10 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons, 2 great granddaughters, and many other relatives including, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will also be remembered by a host of friends.

Rett was preceded in death by daughter, Cathlene B. Sanders.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Second Baptist Church of Wayne, 246 Highland Avenue, Wayne, Pennsylvania 19087.
