Marvin L. Brown, Jr., 29, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Born in Coatesville, Marvin was the beloved son of Crystal Gardner Goode and Marvin L. Brown, Sr. He was affectionately, known as J. or Jay by his family and friends.

He worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where his kindness and respectful manner left a lasting impression on the elders and all those he interacted with.

Jay had a passion for fitness. He enjoyed running and playing basketball. These moments of physical activity were a reflection of his desire to connect with the world around him in his own unique way.

Jay spent five years living in Philadelphia, a city that enriched his life experiences and broadened his horizons. At a young age, his mother instilled in him "Knowledge is Power." He knew that knowledge came from reading. He became an avid reader and found solace in the pages of his studies. He found himself immersed in books that took him to distant worlds and broadened his horizons.

J. also enjoyed listening to rap music, often finding himself lost in his own world, appreciating the rhythm and lyrics.

Most of all J's respectful demeanor and genuine character will always be remembered. His family knew him as a thoughtful and considerate individual.

He is survived by his wife, Daphcar of South Carolina, mother, Crystal Gardner Goode and her husband of Arizona; father, Marvin L. Brown, Sr. (Tambra) of Coatesville; sisters, Shaniqua Scott, Shadell Brown; brothers, Andrew Scott, Paul Henson, Jr., Debron Henson; grandmother, Viola Brown; grandfather, Frankie Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister,  Shanell Brown.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held beginning at 11 AM.
