Markus James Thomas, 66, of West Chester, PA passed away, on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Jean M. (Blakney) and Alan W. Thomas, Sr. Markus was affectionately known as "Buck" by his family and friends.
He lived in West Chester, PA his entire life and was educated in the West Chester Area School District. During his childhood, he shared Bible Studies with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness and attended Sunday school at Rice's Temple Church in West Chester PA.
He was previously employed at Friends Assn. in West Chester, Rolling Green Memorial Park Cemetery, and various jobs in the community such as Landscaping and Residential Mover.
Markus loved his family and always made himself available whenever needed. His pride and joy was his daughter, Trissy, whom he would brag about to no end.
He was gifted with an amazing spirit, always upbeat, loved to have fun, and was "The Life of the Party". Markus never complained about his illness.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed wild game hunting and fishing with his dad, he mastered the sport. Deer hunting was his passion, and he would always try to convince you to eat what he caught. He enjoyed listening to music, watching boxing matches, Eagles football, and the Olympics.
Markus leaves precious memories to his daughter, Tristan Thomas-Mazyck, his devoted niece, Sonya Thomas of West Chester, sisters, Evelyn Johnson (Kevin) of West Chester, and Alsenia Smith; brother, Richard Mack (Regina) of Altoona; Joseph Hill, and Donna Hill of Chester PA; stepbrothers and sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nancy Thomas, siblings, Nathan A. Thomas, Alan W. Thomas Jr., and Theresa A. Thomas.
He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service is planned for 11 AM, Friday, February 7, 2025, at Saint Paul's Baptist Church, 1 Hagerty Blvd, West Chester, PA.
