Mack Cannon, of Coatesville PA, transitioned peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Jefferson Hospital of Montgomery County, after succumbing to his battle with cancer. He was 50 years old.
Born June 10, 1976 in Coatesville PA, he was the son of Mack Gee, of Georgia, and the late Patricia Cannon.
Mack attended and graduated from the Coatesville Area School District (CASH) where he played basketball and acquired the name “Ski Iverson.” It was at this very school that Mack formed friendships and brotherhood with other students and teammates that lasted well over 30 years.
Growing up Mack lived on Coates Street and had a strong love for his neighborhood and local residents where he was known as Ski Cannon or Ski Gutter. Aside from playing basketball Mack developed a passion for cooking and enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing video games and hanging out with family and friends.
Mack worked in construction as a concrete coordinator at Faddis Inc, until June of 2021 at which time he began attending culinary classes in Phoenixville, PA.
Religiously Mack was a Muslim and he walked in his Islamic faith from 1996 until his passing. He would often be seen wearing his religious attire such as a koffee or some other covering on his head, and a throb over his clothing. He attended the local Masjid Ar-Rahman, of Coatesville, for Jummah prayer on Fridays. He may not have always been on his deen but was always clear on who he was and what he believed in and certainly regarding his love for Allah.
Mack’s personality was quiet but his love was loud and he will be missed by his significant other, Lanesha Wilkerson of Coatesville; his daughter Makayla Cannon of Coatesville; grandson Kairo Rokins of Coatesville PA; his brother Roger Cannon of Coatesville; his father Mack Gee of Atlanta; best bro’s and cousins Dre’ Smith of Coatesville, Carl “Cook” Cannon of Coatesville, Odell “Zelly” Cannon of Coatesville, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Patricia Cannon, sister Rhonda Cannon and maternal grandmother, all of Coatesville PA.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love, a well known individual in his city. He will be deeply missed and his memory will forever be cherished.
