Obituary

Luther Edward McCree passed away unexpectedly at his residence on June 22, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on August 8, 1972, in Coatesville, PA, Luther was the beloved son of Pamela Smith and Luther Edward McCree. He was the husband of Nichole McCree, with whom he shared 13 years of marriage.

Luther was a 1990 graduate of Chester High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, where he developed his skills and discipline. After his military service, he pursued a career as an engineer.  He worked as an installer for Technoplast USA.

An avid outdoorsman, Luther found solace in hunting and fishing, activities that connected him with nature and brought him joy. His love for the open road was evident in the THUNDERGUARD motorcycle club, where he formed lasting friendships/brotherhood and shared his passion for riding.

Luther was a dedicated sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams—the Philadelphia 76ers, Phillies, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Georgia Bulldogs. His love for sports was matched only by his love for his family and friends, who were the center of his world.

In addition to his parents, Luther leaves behind his beloved wife, Nichole McCree; son, Toure Kennedy; stepchildren, Brian Adger, Marrilla Hill, and Thaddeus Hill; four adored grandchildren; and his siblings, Andre McCree, Sirville Winters, and Tomario James and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Two services are planned to celebrate his life.

In Pennsylvania, a funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Hutchinson Memorial UAME Church, 825 E. Chestnut Street, Coatesville, PA. The viewing will begin at 9:00 AM.

In South Carolina, a memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2723 Cameron Road, Chester, South Carolina 90706.
