Lottie Mae Buchanan Hoggard, 64, of Coatesville passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at home.

Born in Cheraw, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bozie and Frances Jones Buchanan, and wife of the late Leroy Hoggard, Sr.

While raising a family she worked at Lynch Homes and later was employed at West Chester University where she worked as a supervisor in the cafeteria for many years.

Her children will always remember the days when she taught them how to play sports like softball, baseball, and even boxing. She was known to be the disciplinarian for her sons, however it was all done in love and care.

Lottie was a member of New Life In Christ Fellowship (NLICF) in Coatesville, PA.  She faithfully served as an alter worker and was a member of the discipleship ministry. She enjoyed cooking, listening to gospel music and spending time with the family.

Lottie was called home to be with Lord June 8, 2016. She was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Buchanan.

She is survived by  four sons, Darryl (Teresa) Buchanan, Anthony (Dionne) Hoggard, Leroy (Tasha) Hoggard, Jr., Brian Hoggard; brothers, Bozi Buchanan, Jr., Charles Buchanan and Thomas (Barbara Ann) Buchanan; sisters, Nell Jackson, Amanda Winkey, Lois "Sandra" Short,  Dorothy Buchanan, Debra Buchanan and Olivia Buchanan. She also leaves one uncle, Ernest Jones; one aunt, Bernice Henderson; 10 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Services will be held 11 am Friday, June 17, 2016 at New Life In Christ Fellowship, 1 South Fifth Avenue, Coatesville, Pa. Viewing will begin at 9 am.

Interment will be in the New Evergreen Cemetery in Coatesville.
