Loretta Cook Lindsey passed away peacefully at Paoli Hospital in Paoli Pennsylvania on March 7, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on May 1, 1935, the beloved daughter to the late Lymas Cook and Loretta Pearson-Cook in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Growing up Loretta was the 3rd child of four girls. She attended the Historic James Adams School in Coatesville where she played baseball throughout her school years. After high school, she met and later married Herbert Lindsey, Sr. on August 12, 1955, in Coatesville Pennsylvania. Loretta and Herbert had 7 children: Gloria, Cecelia, Carman, Herbert Jr, Micheal, Larry, and Adam.

Loretta and her family moved to Newark, NJ. She started working at an industrial Factory for a couple of years. Loretta later moved back to Coatesville where she started her career at the Northwster Union Service where she later retired. She also worked at Ms. Jane's daycare center in Coatesville.

Loretta loved playing cards and going to bingo every week. She was very family-oriented and loved to dance.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Herbert aka "Big Daddy" Lindsey, Sr.; two daughters, Cecelia Lindsey and Carman Anderson of Newark, NJ; son, Larry Lindsey of Rome, New York; sister, Vera Fields of Harlem, New York; sister in laws, Sarah Quirley of Chesterfield, VA, Elise Mealy of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, William Lindsey of Richmond, VA and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta Pearson Cook and Lymas Cook; 4 children: Gloria Cook, Herbert Cook, Jr, Michael Lindsey, and Adam Lindsey; sisters, Elizabeth Hall and Maybell Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant St., Coatesville, PA 19320. A viewing will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.
