Linda May Washington, 88, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

Born in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Goodwin and Mary Elizabeth Daniels Goodwin. Linda was the wife of the late Edward Rudolph Washington.

While raising a family, she worked in the housekeeping department at Pembrooke Nursing and Assistant Living for 30 years until she retired.  She enjoyed watching Western movies and game shows on television. She also enjoyed shopping, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family.  She was fond of chocolate and jelly beans.

Her children remember her as being kind, happy, and enjoying life. She was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed.

She leaves cherished memories to her daughter, Cindy J. Washington of West Chester; son, Anthony C. Washington, Sr. of Coatesville; sisters, Margaret Foster of West Chester, Arlene Goodwin of Exton, Vanessa Boddy of Coatesville; brothers, Albert "Jerry" Goodwin of  West Grove, Ronald Goodwin of Oxford; sister-in-law, Yvonne Goodwin of West Grove; son-in-law, Walter L. Butcher, IV of Coatesville; daughter-in-law, Jewel M. Washington of Downingtown; and a great host of grandchildren, great grands; great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Washington; children: Edward E. Washington, Sr., Debra Elaine Massey, Michael Alan Washington, Mary Francis "Sissy" Washington, Linda Louise Washington, Steven M. Washington; sister, Ruth Elizabeth Goodwin; brothers: Leon Goodwin, Larry Marvin Goodwin and Thomas Herbert Goodwin; grandsons, Curtis Wayne Smith, Tyrone Keith Washington; and granddaughter, Kiasha Washington-Mitchell.

Homegoing Services will be held at 10 AM, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 9 AM until 9:45 AM.
