Lewis "Peppy" Williams, Jr. , 92, of Malvern departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Coatesville, PA. He was the son of the late Margaret Valentine Dodson and Elwood Williams.
Lewis was the husband of Dorothy Hester Martin Williams with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Lewis was inducted into the United States Army in September 1942 during World War II. He obtained the rank of Corporal in the 3366th Quarter Master Trucking Company. Lewis served his country well and was awarded The Good Conduct Medal, The American Campaign Medal, The World War II Victory Medal, and the European African Middle East Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged December 9, 1945. Lewis was also a member of the Nathan Holmes Post of the American Legion, West Chester.
Lewis was employed by the Brackbills farm Market, Frazer, the Devereux Foundation, the American Bronze Company, Berwyn, and the Foote Mineral Company, East Whiteland Township, where he worked until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Lewis leaves, two brothers, James E. Dodson, and Paul A Dodson; two sisters, Ada Dodson Holmes, and Frances Dodson Reason; two sisters-in –law, Elsie Dodson and Ressie Dodson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held 10 AM at the Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 South Valley Rd, Paoli, with a viewing beginning at 8 am.
Interment with military honors will be held in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
