Lester G. White, 87, of Coatesville passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Harrison Senior Living.  Born in Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Wesley and Charlotte Gray White and the husband of Minnie L White. He was employed at the former Lukens Steel Company for 38 until he retired.

Lester was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Coatesville where he served on the usher board for many years. He was a member of the Union Local 1165,  the Lily of the Valley Lodge #59 F&AM of Coatesville, the Shriners Minaret Temple #174 in Chester, and the Mt. Vernon Lodge #151, I.B.P.O.E. of W. of Coatesville.

Lester passed away July 5, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Wright and Louis Nearo; sisters, Elsie Johnson, Marie Thompson, Mary Cord and Harriet Brown; brothers, Charles Dorsey, Hugh Dorsey and Wesley White.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 60 years, Minnie L. White; daughter, Carolyn Jenkins Scott of Coatesville; grandson, Frank Washington; granddaughter, Tamira Coleman and her husband Pierre; sister, Emma Moore of New London; 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 12 at the Second Baptist Worship Center, 856 Lumber Street in Coatesville with a viewing begin at 9 am.

Interment will be private.
