Leslie E. Crutchfield I, "Crutch", 74, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on his birthday, Thursday, December 24, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Edwin and Edith Marie Robinson Crutchfield. He was the husband of Ann P. (Powell) Crutchfield with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Leslie was a 1964 graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School. He continued his education and graduated from Cheyney University with a Bachelors Degree.
He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam era until he was honorably discharged in 1970. He was a Member of the First Baptist Church of Passtown in Coatesville, where he especially loved attending Sunday School.
He worked at multiple Pennsylvania State hospitals as a recreational therapist for many years.
Leslie was an avid Coatesville and Philadelphia sports fan. He Loved to go to the final four every year with his friends, and also enjoyed fishing and making wine. Most of all, he enjoyed sitting under the tree in his backyard.
Leslie leaves cherished memories to his wife, Ann; three sons, Leslie E. Crutchfield, II of Coatesville, Kevin Crutchfield, I of Coatesville, Damon A. Crutchfield of Philadelphia; daughter, Nakeya Crutchfield-McCline (husband Michael) of Coatesville; brother, Dennis Crutchfield of Coatesville: sisters, Deborah Brown, Linda Flamer (husband Russell) of Coatesville, Cheryl Saafir (husband Rashad) of South Holland, Illinois; grandchildren; Sierra Horsey, Latay Crutchfield, Kevin Crutchfield II, Issiah Worthington, Zoe Crutchfield, Phoenix McCline, 2 great-grandchildren, goddaughter, Tajah Melvin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville.
