Laura Jane Fiedler

Laura Jane Fiedler, lovingly known as Twizzler or simply "Twizz" to those fortunate enough to know her, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Born on December 1, 1947, in Decatur, Indiana, Laura’s vibrant spirit and radiant personality touched countless lives throughout her 78 years.

Laura led a life defined by creativity, love, and boundless joy. After raising her children with devotion and grace, she pursued her passion for design by attending Harcum College Art & Design Center, where she refined her natural talents. She then embarked on a career that allowed her to express her innate artistry through her own design business, specializing in exquisite window treatments. Her flair for design was just one facet of a woman whose life was rich with personality and warmth.

An Army Brat, Laura traveled the globe with her parents and sister while they served our country. These early experiences no doubt helped shape the adventurous and lively soul she became. Among the many ways she brought joy to life, Laura’s beloved traditions stood out vividly—especially those sunny summers spent with family and shore friends in Cape May. There, each year, she cherished her Dairy Queen ice cream cone ritual, delighting in the simple magic of those moments. Mornings at Christmas were forever brightened by her infectious joy as she created holiday magic, filling the home with laughter and love.

Laura’s magnetic personality was impossible to ignore. She was a light of fresh air and truly the life of any party. Instant connections were her gift, as she welcomed friends of all ages with open arms and a sparkling smile. Her sharp wit and classic sense of fashion, which she fondly called her “Bougie Grandma” style, set trends and made her a beloved figure in every circle. From dancing and happy hour to laughing until tears spilled and loving fiercely, she lived fully and fervently. A true centerpiece of attention, her love for shopping knew no bounds—she redefined what it meant to be a personal shopper.

Her cherished hobbies were a window into her soul: design, reading, laughter, and the joy of close family connections. Laura’s heart was as big as her personality, and her love for her family knew no limits. She was devoted to her daughter Amy Fiedler-Dluhy, her granddaughter Georgia Grace Dluhy, and grandson Brayden Thomas Dluhy. The warmth extended to future son-in-law Austin Hunter Schlenker and bonus great-granddaughter Lena Mae Schlenker. Laura’s close bond with her sister Patricia Strange and nephews Joey, Jeffery, and Jonathan Strange remained a source of strength. She found joy and companionship in her “Marvel Stables Family”—Chris, Zach, Jimmy, Heather, Jason, Sondra, Maddie, Anita, Gabby, and Ula—and she was deeply loved by all who knew her at Harrison House and her best friend Abbie Love.

Though her physical presence has left this world, the indelible mark of her laughter, love, and spirit remains. She is reunited in peace with her late husband, Thomas Henry Fiedler, her beloved son Thomas Gordon Fiedler, her longtime partner Al Fanella, her parents George Gordon and Mary Alice Michener, and dear friend Michelle Marie Przemieniecki, alongside many other missed family members and friends who carried her in their hearts.

Laura Jane Fiedler was a beacon of light and joy, a character in the best sense—someone who filled every room with life and every heart with warmth. Her legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and an unshakable love for those she held dear. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by those whose lives she touched so deeply.
