IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Larry A.

Stevens

December 29, 1953 – January 6, 2025

Obituary

Larry Allen Stevens, 71, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his residence.

Born in West Chester, PA, Larry was the son of the late Laura Elizabeth (Griffin) Johnson and Laban Allen Stevens. He was the husband of Margaret Mary "Peggy" Dillard with whom he shared 47 years together.

Larry was a 1971 graduate of Unionville Senior High School.  He worked as a Machinist at RV Industries for 50 until he retired.

Known as a man of few words, his rare utterances carried weight and wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to hear them.

Larry had an undeniable passion for NASCAR, particularly Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the iconic number 3 car. His love for the sport was rivaled only by his fondness for traveling. Larry preferred the traditional method of navigating with an atlas, finding joy in the journey as much as the destination. He also enjoyed collecting Hess Trucks, and reading the encyclopedia. He was an avid builder and enjoyed working on cars, a testament to his skillful hands and industrious spirit.

A man of many interests, Larry enjoyed taking pictures, always eager to capture life's greatest moments. His love for barbecuing and hosting pig roasts brought friends and family together. He had a humorous and sarcastic nature. He enjoyed watching television until he inevitably fell asleep, yet his family insists he never truly missed a moment of his favorite shows, such as "Bob Hearts Abishola" and "Alaska: The Last Frontier." Though not a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Larry's enthusiasm for sports was apparent. He loved playing golf, and dominoes.

Larry's presence and warmth will be greatly missed, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He leaves loving memories to daughters, Vanessa R. Dillard, Michelle R. Dillard both of Coatesville, Misha Sykes of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren: Arthur Dillard, Kyle Dillard, Erica Dillard, Dorothy Walker, Terry Dillard, Brandon Walker, Demia Mickens, Anthony (Don) Williams, and Shaquan Williams, many great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Henry (Roy), Lucille Stevens, Lillian Stevens, Lavern Stevens (Desbert), Lonnie Stevens, Charlie Griffin (Trina) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lorretta Tackett, Laurie Taltoan, Ella Williams, Louis Stevens, Laban Stevens, Jr., and Gloria James.

Though he is gone and had been received by the Lord, we shall always cherish his memory in our hearts.
