Lakeeta Althea Watters, a beloved wife and mother, passed away suddenly on November 2, 2024, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 64 years old.
Born in West Grove, PA Lakeeta was the daughter of the late Gene Allen Robinson, Sr., and Florence Geneva Robinson. Lakeeta was the beloved wife of Ernest L. Watters, Jr. whom she shared over 40 years of marriage and mother to Quinn Ernest Watters.
Lakeeta was a woman who embraced simplicity and cherished the little joys of life. She was low maintenance and always placed others needs before herself. Lakeeta took pleasure in giving to family and friends. She routinely bought sentimental gifts for friends and family that were thoughtful and demonstrated how much she knew and loved the person.
Lakeeta had an undeniable passion for cooking, often finding inspiration from the Food Network, which was her favorite channel. She was happy finding new recipes and sharing her culinary creations with family and friends, that brought joy to those around her once they tried her delicious dishes. Lakeeta's love and care went into every dish.
Another one of Lakeeta's known passions was her love for deserts. Bings Bakery was one of her favorite places. Her contribution to all family functions was a variety of cakes, pies, and cookies.
Lakeeta had a broad career including Nations Bank, West Chester University, Giant Food Stores, and most recently BJ's in Downingtown, where she was employed for the last 5 years. At each organization, Lakeeta excelled and was promoted to lead positions numerous times.
Lakeeta will be remembered as a kind soul with a beautiful spirit. Her presence would light up a room with her smile, laughter, and stories that always had a humorous angle. She was tenacious in whatever she did. Lakeeta was resilient and never gave up on anything no matter how difficult the challenge. Her devotion to her family was evident. She deeply loved her husband and son, as well as her siblings and extended family. Her compassion, love for others, and caring will always be remembered.
Lakeeta was preceded in death by three siblings, Gene A. Robinson, Jr., Bridgette V. Bolling, and Tyrone B Robinson, Sr.
Lakeeta leaves cherished memories to her husband, Ernest L. Watters of Coatesville; son, Quinn Ernest Watters of Coatesville; sisters, Jacqueline E. Sharp of Kennett Square and Rowena C. Robinson of Wilmington; brothers, Monroe O. Robinson of Chatham, Cyrus K. Robinson, Sr. (Jeanette) of Bear, DE, Kevin V. Robinson, Sr. (Linda) of Wilmington, DE, Moiscell B. Robinson, Sr. (Sally) of Lincoln University, PA, Todd C. Robinson (Tamara) of Coatesville, Troy R. Robinson of Oxford; aunt, Doris P. Mason of Kennett Square, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, Coatesville PA. A viewing will be held from 9 AM until 10:45 AM.
Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville, PA.
