Joyce Marie Shepherd, 53, of West Chester, formerly of Coatesville passed away, Monday, March 12, 2012 at home.

Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Dodson Shepherd.

Joyce graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School in 1977.

She was employed in the billing department at DaVita Dialyses Center in Malvern.

Joyce was a member of the Second Baptist Worship Center in Coatesville where she served as a greeter.

She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family.

She is survived by seven sisters, Elizabeth Shepherd of Exton, Martha  Pettaway and Dawn Dodson both of Downingtown, Marsha Shepherd and Patricia (Robert) Shepherd both of Malvern, Donna (Joseph)  Brown and Linda Shepherd both of Coatesville; one brother, John Shepherd, Jr. of Phoenixville and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Tyrone Shepherd.

Services will be held on Saturday, Mar. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 856 Merchant Street, Coatesville. Friends are also invited to the viewing from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, West Chester. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joyce's name to the church.
