Joseph Howard Parrish, 86, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Heatherwood Retirement Community in Honey Brook, PA.
Joseph was born on May 15, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of the late Fanny Margaret (Hembree) and Joseph Howard Parrish.
He was the husband of Alma Jane Resendez Parrish with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
Joseph was a graduate from Saint Bernadine's High School, San Bernardino, California and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside.
He faithfully served over 3 years in the United States Army during the Korean conflict until he was honorably discharged in 1957.
Joseph worked for AT&T as a business office manager and at Lockheed Martin as a computer program analyst.
Over the years, he was active in the Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, Clovis Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, FEMA, and Coast Guard Auxiliary. He enjoyed gardening, music, boating, hiking, and especially camping with his kids.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Alma Parrish; sons: John Joseph Parrish, Mark David Parrish, Matthew Sean Parrish; daughter, Karen Marcella Parrish; siblings, Joyce Ellen Parrish, John Michael Parrish; grandchildren: Amanda Marie Parrish, Mary Rose Parrish, Anthony David Parrish, Christopher Matthew Parrish, Benjamin Matthew Parrish, Shaun Marshall Parrish, Sophia Jane Parrish; great-grandchildren: Clare Rose Parrish, Sebastian Mark Mayagoitia Parrish, Timothy John Parrish, Ruth Margaret Parrish and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by one brother, James Timothy Parrish.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
Interment with full military honors will be held later that day at 2 PM on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, in Newtown, PA.
