John Henry Woodward, Sr., was born on February 3, 1941 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Kersey M. Woodward, Sr., and Laura Mullen Woodward. He was affectionately known as "Son-Son" by his family and friends.

He received his early education at the Historical James Adams and he attended the Coatesville Area Public Schools.

John had been employed in construction and was a member of Laborers' International Union of North America Local Union #413, Chester, Pa.  He also worked sparingly in auto repair.

He loved working on cars and enjoyed listening to the oldies.

John passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at age 74. He was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine King and one daughter, Pamela Dunn Randall.

He leaves cherished memories to four sons, Phillip Woodward, John Woodward, Albert Edwards all of Coatesville, James Marsh (Dana) of Parkesburg; one daughter, Tracey Kelso of Coatesville; two sisters, Elva Griffin of Coatesville, Elsie Alder (William) of West Grove;  four brothers, Leonard Woodward (Ann), Kersey M. Woodward, Jr., Clayton Woodward (Barbara) and William Woodward  (Anna) all of Coatesville; son in law, Phillip Randall of Phoenixville; companion of 29 years, Terri Williams of Coatesville;  Vernell Edwards of Coatesville, a longtime companion and mother of Phillip, John, Albert and Tracey; two step-sons, Tyson Williams and Gregory Williams; 17 grandchildren and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John will be missed by his family and friends. We will cherish his memory in our hearts.
