John Arthur Roberts, 93, of Coatesville passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Harrison House in Christiana, Pa. Born in Liberty County, Georgia, he was the son of the late  John A. Roberts, Sr. and Jannie Powell Roberts. He was the husband of the late Thelma Elizabeth Bookman with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
He had been employed at Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville for 39 years.
He is survived by three sons, John C. "Johnny" Roberts (Helen) of Detroit, Michigan; Henry Roberts (Otelia) of Bronx, New York; John A. Roberts, Jr. (Ernestine) of Midway, Georgia; one daughter, Denise Lewis of Coatesville; daughter-in-law, Alma Roberts of McKenney, Virginia; 19 grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter Claudette Shatteen; sons, Leon Cedric Roberts and Rev. Davis Roberts; and granddaughter, Shawnda Perry.
Homegoing Services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at New Life in Christ Fellowship, 1 S Fifth Ave,, Coatesville, PA. Viewing will begin at 8 AM. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, PA.
