Joan Lee Wilkerson, 85, of Thorndale, passed away on November 3, 2025, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee Wilks and Joseph Broadnax. Joan was born on December 25, 1939, in Downingtown PA. She spent over 30 years at a job in West Chester working as a CNA.

Joan was a very opinionated person who spoke her mind with confidence. She loved shopping, going out to dinner, and going to the movies. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and when she was able, going to church.

When it comes to making potato salad, she was the "MASTER". Her potato salad was not only a dish, but a symbol of her love and care. It was a must at every gathering and a cherished recipe passed down through generations. Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Jesse Lee Wilkes; her father, Joseph Broadnax; her sisters, Evalina Mickey Gravely, Jacquline Lambert, and Debra Wilks; her brothers, Donald Texas Lee, Herbert Tommy Lee, and Robert Jabbo Lee.

She is survived by her sister, Thelma Lee; her aunt, Janet Pie Christie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including her great-niece, who took great care of her, Charlese Jennings, who will cherish her memory forever.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Wright Funeral Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA.
