IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean E.
London
January 16, 1937 – January 18, 2024
Jean E. London of South Coatesville, PA was called home to be with the Lord at her residence surrounded by love on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
She was born in Coatesville at the WC Atkinson Memorial Hospital on January 16, 1937, to the late Mayor James C. Kennedy, Sr. and Ernestine (High) Kennedy. She was affectionately known as Ms. Jean by many.
Jean loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Benardtown. Her passion was singing in the church choir. If she had something special to do at church nothing could stop her from being there, not even illness. She sang with the Wilson specials and served as a trustee where she was a member her entire life.
Her hobbies were reading romance novels and reading the newspaper everyday. She loved doing the word unscramble. She would call and say look this up for me.
She was an avid TV watcher. She loved to shop and was a sharp dresser. Her favorite colors were black and white.
Jean loved laughter and would always say it was the best medicine.
She was a proud daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannine McNeil (Ronald) of Coatesville; sons, William London (Jessica) of Coatesville, David London (Anjanette) of Raleigh, NC, Kevin London (Myra) of Coatesville, Scott London of Coatesville; one sister, Joan B. Hubert of Coatesville; one brother, Rev. James C. Kennedy, Jr. (Evelyn) of Coatesville; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; special cousins, Claudette Marshall and Marjorie Thompson; 2 special friends, Martha Holmes and Gladys Legree and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Indya Monique London, and a great-grandson, Meikki.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her extended family, church family, and a multitude of friends touched by her vibrant spirit.
