On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Ms. Jean Francis Anderson "Granny Girl", surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully at home in Coatesville, PA. She was 96 years old.

Jean was born in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late William Carter and Isabelle (White) Carter. She was the mother of the late Sheila Gallyot Norman, and the grandmother of Ronda C. Jones-Moore of Coatesville, whom she raised as a daughter.

A courageous survivor of breast cancer, Jean was a strong woman feisty woman yet with a sweet demeanor. She loved her pet dogs, and drinking her daily cup of coffee and a glass of wine. Jean enjoyed opera and listening to classical music. She once sang as a contestant at the Apollo in New York. She also had a special place in her heart for Lt. Pop Kelly whom she loved dearly.

Besides her daughter, Sheila Gallyot Norman, she was predeceased by her grandson Damon Ricardo Jones in 2002, and niece, Wilma Bullock who was like a sister.

In addition to her granddaughter, Ronda, she leaves treasured memories to her great-grandchildren, Jazmine Dominique Williams, (husband Frederick) of Laurel, MD, Briana Adreece Johnson of Coatesville, Montrell Frisby, Zamir A. Frisby and Naheem Damon Moore all of Phoenixville, PA, and Damon Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Omari Williams, Jordan Alexander Williams, Kyair Jean Francis Blackwell, and Aura Noelle Frisby; son in law, James Wesley Jones, Jr; sister like nieces, Marie Davis and Lenore Cistola, as well as other relatives and friends
