Jason Lamont Quail was born on July 28, 1972 in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  He was the son of the late

Larry Wesley and Dorothy Quail. He was affectionately known as "Jay" by his family and friends.

Jay received his early education in the Downingtown public schools.  He was a gifted runner, who received many awards in track and field. In 1991, Jay won the 100 and 200 meter races, and ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relays. He also won races at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.

After he graduated from High Sc hool he attended Cheyney University.

He had been employed by his dear friend Greg Costello as a barber at Blessed Cuts in Downingtown.  His amazing skill with a pair of scissors earned him many loyal customers, who all became friends.  Saturdays at the shop without him will never be quite the same.

Anyone who knew Jay knows he loved to have fun.  He was a jokester who loved music, laughter, and spending time with family and friends.  He was kind hearted, empathetic and generous.  Jay's positive attitude was readily apparent in the gift of his infectious smile.  Jay had an artistic side, demonstrated by his perfect handwriting and skill for drawing.

He loved to read, had a remarkable memory, and was a master of trivia. He was an avid sports fan and knew little-known statistics about all kinds of sports from boxing to football to track and beyond.

Jay departed this life suddenly on November 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Marlene Wesley, his father Larry Wesley and his mother Dorothy Quail Forman who passed away in 2007.

He leaves to mourn one son, Kolin C. Chenger of Downingtown; one sister, April S. Quail of West Chester, nieces , nephews, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and beloved friends.

Jay touched many lives with the joy of laughter. His smile, warmth and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. His smile, warmth and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.  Jay was a great gift to all who had the joy of knowing him.
