James L. Thompson, Jr., 33, of Parkesburg, formerly of Coatesville, PA, surrounded by his family, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of James LeRoy Thompson, Sr. and Antonia Colon-Merced. James was affectionately known as JJ by his family and friends.

JJ was a graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School. He enjoyed fishing, car racing, video games, shopping for sneakers and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he leaves his sons, Se'maj Na'Gae Thompson, Sin-cere Kha'lil Marquise Thompson, Zakarr James Thompson; daughters, Jamyah Larae Greene, Ja'leeya Larenz Thompson; brothers: Jimmy Thompson, Carleton Thompson, Denorris Bowman, Ayanna Bowman, Ronald White, Keyshawn Butcher; sister, Jaleah Bowman-Blanton; maternal grandmother, Pilar Morgan; his long-time girlfriend, Jaleesa Raison as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Rasheem Butcher aka Mooch.

(Updated Service Information as of March 18, 2020) There will be a viewing from 8am to 11am on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. Due to the recent updates regarding the spread of CORNONAVIRUS, also known as COVID-19, this  viewing can only be done in small groups of ten people for ten minutes per group. This is needed in order to accommodate everyone. Please help us follow these rules in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

There will not be a funeral service. Family only at the burial site. Those at the cemetery will need to stay in their cars. The family of James L. Thompson Jr. kindly thanks you in advance.
