March 11, 1960 – February 24, 2017
James A. Cranage, 56, of Thorndale, PA passed away, February 24, 2017 at the Pembrooke Nursing and Rehab Center in West Chester Pa.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Herbert Aubrey Cranage and Clara Lavinia (Emery) Cranage. He was the husband of Colleen M. Cranage. James was known as "Jimma" by his family members.
Jim grew up in Ambler, PA and he received his early education in the Upper Dublin School District. He graduated in 1978 from Upper Dublin High School and later attended Montgomery County Community College.
In 1992, James and Colleen relocated to Chester County when their daughter was born. He was a successful sales rep for many years and then the owner of the Office Park Exxon Station in Fort Washington, PA. He enjoyed anything related to the Civil War, going to museums and collecting Egyptian artifacts. He loved going camping and down to the Jersey shore every year with family, a tradition started by his father many years ago.
In addition to his wife Colleen, he is sorrowfully missed by his daughter Taylor Moran Cranage; his siblings, Stephen A. Cranage, David A. Cranage, Deborah A. Cranage and Paul A. Cranage, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
