Herbert A. Brown, 80, of Coatesville passed away October 18, 2015 at the Brandywine Hospital in Caln. He was the son of the late Luke M. Towles and Emma J. Brown McNeil. He was the husband of the late Nina Artis-Brown. A United States Navy veteran serving after the Korean War, he then re-enlisted during the  Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1965.

Preceded in death by siblings Charles Brown, Louella McNeil and Juanita Towles, he is survived by son Terrence of Baltimore, MD; brothers Thomas and Nathan Towles of Coatesville, Daniel Towles of Pottstown, Edward Towles of Baltimore, MD; sisters Maxine Towles of Coatesville, Shirley (Boyd) Jackson of Darlington, SC; Debra (James) Liggins of Utica, NY; aunt Rosella High of Coatesville, nephew, Troy London and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services are planned for 11 am Tuesday, October 27 at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue in Coatesville. Viewing will begin at 9 am.

Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti.
